California Department of Transportation – Drainage Improvements for SR73 Tollroad

ProjectLine constructed drainage improvements at existing stormwater detention Basins 1032R and 457L located in Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel. The project included demolition and replacement of failed 48-inch and 42-inch HDPE drainage piping. Key issues included ensuring proper backfilling and anchorage of new pipes, since substandard backfilling led to failure of previous pipe. The project also included replacement of headwall end connections, slurry backfill, preparing and implementing traffic control plans, site grading, slope compaction, earth export, and installation of soil erosion control materials. ProjectLine was a subcontractor to AMEC for this project, and completed the project on-time and under budget.​
