City of Riverside Grade Separation Project

Assisted with preliminary and final design of the City of Riverside’s 3rd Street Grade Separation Project as subconsultant to HDR. ProjectLine’s scope included designs for relocation and realignment of the Riverside Canal, including and 84-inch diameter inverted siphon, and for addition of 4,200 ft of new storm drainage piping ranging between 36-inch and 78-inch diameter. Inverted siphon design included hydraulic analysis for maintaining equivalent hydraulics to original canal. Canal realignment and canal-to-siphon transition structures were designed for rail loading and seismic loads. Storm drains were designed based on County Flood Control District drainage master plan, with confirmation of the mater plan’s hydrologic calculations. Services included cost estimates and input on construction sequence.
