Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) – Distribution System Improvements

ProjectLine assisted with preliminary and final design of CIP improvements for addressing problems related to stormwater drainage at 93 MWD sites in Orange County. Drainage improvements were required to protect distribution structures and pipelines impacted by stormwater erosion. Stormwater damage to distribution structures or pipelines could negatively impact MWD’s ability to treat and distribute water, and result in large-scale service interruptions, so protection is critical. ProjectLine assisted with site investigations, hydrologic calculations, CADD drafting, and permitting for the project as a subconsultant to Carollo Engineers. ProjectLine continued as subconsultant to Carollo on final design of improvements for 65 sites on MWD’s Allen-McColluch Pipeline (AMP Line), Lower Feeder, 2nd Lower Feeder, Orange County Feeder #2, East Orange County Feeder, and Santiago Lateral. Improvements include vault replacements, channelized drainage, Arizona crossings, paved access roadways, and pipeline protection structures.
